Muhanad Sharaf
One of Ohio's leading electrical engineers, Muhanad Sharaf has dedicated his career to excellence. Sharaf currently works for Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), where he fills the role of Senior Electrical Engineer. In his current position at this global power products business, he maintains responsibility for efficiency optimization and oversees engineering schemes. Over the course of his career, Muhanad Sharaf has gained experience in a range of modalities, has served at the helm of a variety of projects, and has advised and directed junior engineers.
A multifaceted engineering professional, Muhanad Sharaf previously worked as an electrical engineer at the Columbus, Ohio-based headquarters of American Electric Power, a multistate utilities company. During his tenure at this national utility provider, he served in the company's departments of electrical engineering services, T&D station projects engineering, and until 2009, in the New Generation Projects division. In this most recent job, Sharaf developed and implemented electrical schemes related to generation power blocks, transmission SCADA systems, and generation remote terminal units (RTUs).
Committed to occupational growth, Sharaf is a member of professional societies such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Fluent in English and Arabic, he is also skilled at software applications including Aspen, EasyPower, Etap, ABB PCM600, GE Enervista, SEL 5010 5020 & 5601, Beckwith IPScom, and AutoCad.
Prior to embarking on his professional career, Muhanad Sharaf completed his undergraduate education at Wright State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering in 1994. Early in his career, Sharaf worked for Schlumberger Technologies as an electrical technician. As his schedule allows, he participates in activities including travel, exercise, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
