Currently the Director of Project Development – Healthcare, at Big Firm, (Big Firm is ranked #100 in ENR’s 2008 rankings of the Top 400 Contractors Nationwide, and #57 in their 2008 rankings of Top Green Contractors Nationwide), he has promoted Big firm as a leader in Lean and Integrated Project Delivery construction techniques and procedures and increased their industry profile through strategic planning and business development endeavors resulting in opportunities for growth with new clients and projects. As the Director of Marketing at MY Project Construction, (1995-2008) Bill helped this small high-integrity firm penetrate the California construction market. Despite being the smallest of the five construction companies invited to propose on the $80 million dollar Glendale Adventist design/build project, Abbott was awarded the contract along with their design partner (the Diverse Group of Phoenix, Arizona). This project went on to win a Design Build Merit Award from the Design Build Institute of America. Bill also headed Abbott's efforts in the Sutter Healthcare "Competition" which helped inform a state-of-the-art design for future Sutter facilities by incorporating lean design and construction techniques.
