Arijit Mukhopadhyay
Craft Retailer in Bankura, India
Second generation academic, first generation entrepreneur.
I did my masters in theoretical physics and was about to pursue further into academia. But the urge to build something of my own that will also add value to others' lives was always there. So I switched tracks. Eventually, my interests shifted from quantum mechanics to consumer psychology, from nonlinear optics to user experience, and from latex to no-code stack.
Now here I am, building stuff that involves art and tech. Because one, art and crafts always fascinate me, and I always appreciate craftsmanship. And two, I've had a thing for tech since my middle school.
Co-founded Shilpiyon, a handmade craft retail startup that focuses on highlighting the makers behind the crafts – the artisans.
Currently building Atern Goods – a modern atelier specialising in bespoke watch straps.
I'm also involved in various projects around the Indian watch community.
