Muluken Alemu is a highly accomplished FinTech and mobile money executive with over 15 years of progressive experience across banking operations, financial technology, and IT services. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of BirrLink Financial Technologies, where he is leading innovative efforts to disrupt Ethiopia’s digital finance landscape and expand inclusive financial services through cutting-edge mobile money solutions.

Muluken began his academic journey with a BA in Marketing Management from the University of Gondar in 2010, followed by an MBA in Project Management from Addis Ababa University, College of Commerce in 2018. To further specialize in the evolving digital finance space, he earned an MSc in Financial Technology (FinTech) from the Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI) in 2022.

Throughout his career, Muluken has held a variety of senior positions spanning traditional banking, mobile payments, and digital transformation. His core strengths include mobile money strategy, agent network development, digital wallet implementation, and regulatory engagement. He is known for bridging the gap between financial institutions and emerging technology, creating scalable solutions that deliver real impact.
