Munirat Yakub

Munirat Yakub hails from Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria. He started her Primary School Education at Yanape Primary School, Ankpa, Kogi State where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate in 1983. She proceeds at St. Charles College and later completed at Young Muslin Secondary School where she completed her Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 1995 both at Ankpa Local Government of Kogi State. Munirat holds Diploma in Library Science from Bayero University, Kano in 1999 and B.Sc. (Hons) in Library and Information Science from the University of Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria in 2008.

In 1990, Munirat Yakub was employed by Yanape Company where she served as a member of the Board of Evaluating of Civil Works; Assessment of the company breach’s staff; site monitoring and evaluation; checking of day-to-day activities of the company including account unit and preparing the company annual summary report.
In 1999, Munirat was engaged as an Industrial training Students at Kashin Ibrahim Library (KIL) of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where she was assisting students in Reader Service Division (RSD); method of acquiring books to the library; shelving of books and cataloguing books.

In 2004, Munirat proceed with her Industrial Attachment at the University of Maiduguri Main Library where she served diligently as Cataloguing; Shelve and re-shelving of books; Inter-Library Loan and Classifying of Books.

In 2008 till 2009, Munirat was employed to worked with Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria, Maitama at FCT, Abuja where she served as Liberian, PPFN; Drafting Minutes and reporting of meeting taken; arching of letters and document; conducting of HIV/AIDS testing and counseling and above all, notifying of new arrival of books at the centre. Due to her personal ability and skills to worked as a mean of enhancing her life-long skill, she proceed to served at Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Resource Centre in 2009 where she served as Liberian, MDGs Resources Centre; Numbering of Book; and Accessing the Centre Electronic Library.

2011, Munirat was finally employed by the Foreigners Higher Institution in Nigeria known as: Nigerian Turkish Nile University located along Lugbe Express-Way, Abuja where served in the various capacities, such as: Chief Liberian; lecturer; Cataloguing and Classification; Acquiring Books to the Library; and fully in charge of the Electronic Library Depart
