Organic tea is tea that has been certified as organic (produced without synthetic chemicals) by a certifying agency. This article explores the question of whether or not the organic label can be trusted. Some of the factors explored include faking of the organic label, teas that are organically produced but do not bear the organic label, and teas that are technically organic but are still mass-produced in unsustainable ways.
