Murray and Natalie Harrison
Murray and Natalie both grew up in a small city and a small town in New Brunswick, Canada. We met during our college days in '78. In 1981, four days after we became Mr & Mrs, we moved from the east coast of Canada to the Canadian Northwest, to Whitehorse, Yukon. Murray was recruited and hired on with Northwestel. We experienced the northwest in trips to Alaska; camping around the Yukon Territory while lifelong friends were made. Murray also enjoyed hunting and fishing in the big outdoors of the North. Natalie soon began life as a stay at home mom to our 3 children. We moved back to New Brunswick, 2 children and six years later.
Now, after almost 35 years of marriage, we have 3 adult children, 2 adult children in law and 4 grandchildren. It's a good thing we still like to travel cause two of our little families live out west now. With the many miles between us and our grandchildren, this Gramma heads out west as often as she is able to. For the past 12 years, Natalie also likes to keep travelling on a big tour bus once a year when she gathers a large group of women from her city that heads to a Women of Faith Conference in the United States. Murray still loves his work as a Technical Support Adviser, working now for Bell ( aka NB Tel, Aliant, Bell Aliant). We still love the outdoors in all seasons, hiking, cycling, snow shoe, cross country skiing; we love seafood, music and like to spend time at our rustic lake cottage in the summers. Two of our top loves, the Lord Jesus Christ and our family take top priority in our lives.
In the early spring of 2015 we found ourselves on an unexpected journey, when Murray was diagnosed with 2 aggressive bone marrow cancers. We are just two ordinary people, living ordinary lives ... until now. We now live with a peace that cannot be explained while learning to stay afloat through this storm. Facing a huge giant battle in front of us we continue to trust in our GOD, we trust in HIS faithfulness to us, HIS abiding love for us, HIS peace that covers us. While this cancer does not define who we are, we are forever changed by this journey we find ourselves now on, changed in ways that is teaching us to walk on water. We are not unique in this journey, but it is our journey; we are in the middle and this is our story .
