I am a professional and ethical Licensed Mental Health Counselor (FL). As a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors, I am recognized as a National Certified Counselor and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, an EMDR Trauma Therapist, and a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. I have 25+ years of experience in the Human Services field, and have worked for decades within the cancer community as an advocate, a volunteer and a caregiver.

I am extremely passionate about helping people overcome negative life experiences, trauma (including symptoms of PTSD) and other disturbing life events that interfere with the way a person sees the world, themselves, and the way they relate to others.

I am dedicated to helping people move beyond the emotional pain experienced through grief and loss issues (death of a family member, loved one, friend or pet; divorce, romantic break-up, loss of a relationship; end of an addictive lifestyle; job loss, retirement, empty nest syndrome; loss of health).

I am devoted to addressing the psychological needs of people dealing with cancer and other chronic diseases by providing an outlet for emotional distress and the necessary tools and coping skills for improving resistance, resilience and recovery, while instilling hope!

I have been working as a consultant for 5+ years with people who suffer from alcohol and drug addiction. As a trauma therapist using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, I help addicts and alcoholics heal unresolved traumatic issues (mostly from childhood) that may have a foundation for their need to use (substances).

I use an eclectic approach to counseling: Adlerian, Cognitive Behavior (CBT), Existential, Dialectical Behavior (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative and Solution-Focused theories, based on a Rogerian (Person/Client-Centered) therapeutic model. I utilize a variety of Gestalt exercises and use EMDR therapy, which is highly effective in resolving stress-related, trauma and PTSD issues.

Please note: Anyone can experience PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). You do not have to be a First Responder or a Veteran to experience PTSD!

I have published many psychology-based and cancer-related articles in local area newspapers and community papers in Palm Beach County, FL; including on my business and cancer-related websites.
