I've joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. With my Team, I will be running the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco on October 20, 2013. A half marathon is a celebration of the human spirit, physical ability, and mental endurance.

I am privileged to take this journey, and raise funds in support of cancer research. I have accepted this challenge because I believe that a cure for all types of cancer will be discovered when research is adequately funded.

- Every 29 minutes, someone in Canada is diagnosed with a blood cancer.
- Every 76 minutes, someone in Canada dies from a blood cancer.
- The number one disease killer of children is leukemia.
