Murray Waas is an independent journalistand investigative reporter who has worked for and written for New York City based publications.

Waas has worked as investigations editor for Vice, and, earlier in his career, as a staff writer for the Village Voice, He had written for the New Yorker, New York Magazine, and Vox.

Murray Waas has been afinalist for the Pulitzer Prizein the category of national reporting, and a winner of Harvard's Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting.. Waas has also beena winnerof the Barlett & Steele Business Investigative Prize.
