Murugi is a life scientist (Biochemist) by educational training with an affinity towards technology and IT related systems.

She is strongly driven by the curiosity to learn new techniques across various areas, especially in how Technological trends can influence and improve biological research in Africa.

She is currently a Project Lead at Sawasawa.com Limited, a custom software development house in Nairobi, Kenya, handling technical and administrative implementation projects in Rwanda, Uganda and Ghana.

She is also a Co-founder of TREK Science, a Kenyan life science research outfit as well as the proprietor of Library-in-a-Box, a community based library establishment organization.
