Joshua began his musical journey in North Carolina in 1998 serving as church musician at a number of churches.

Joshua grew up singing “Gospel music” with his family. Sara (Joshua’s mother) wanted him to have exposure; so on Sunday afternoons they would go to churches in the community singing hymns.

In 2002, he attended Johnson C. Smith University - Bachelors of Arts in Sacred Music, where he was a member of the University Concert Choir. Joshua served for as Minister of Music for a number of churches in the Charlotte Area including Woodland Presbyterian Church in Paw Creek.

In 2006, Joshua attended The Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC), GA for additional training. He has also served as Minister of Music for a few churches in the Greater Atlanta area.

We had the opportunity to catch up with Joshua for an interview.

How did you meet your wife?

2007 by a mural friend. I wanted to take her out on a date she kept saying no. I was persistent and I knew that she couldn't resist ice cream. We became friends rather quickly and started hanging out. One day I asked her in a note "Will you be my girl friend? Check one yes, no or maybe" and she checked "yes". We were married on July 31, 2010. We have one beautiful daughter; Elizabeth Geneva, born in May 2011.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spending time with family especially with my wife, music, writing sermons, I like watching movies, going to the park, games, browsing the mall and road trips.

What is the Lord teaching you?

That true success as a minister, husband and a father is directly dependent upon the personal time I spend with Him. I can't be a loner; I need the support of others.

Joshua and Kisha love to create music together as a marriage team sharing their gift with their daughter Elizabeth. The beauty of their union is that it is God inspired. Joshua stated “she’s not only my wife, she’s my best friend”.
