Building the network AI runs on @ Google. 20 years connecting the next billion across South Asia, Africa, Middle East & APAC.
For 20 years my job has been the same under different titles: get more people connected — and lately, build the infrastructure that AI itself now runs on.
I started an internet service provider during college, wrote system automation software for the largest telco in Bangladesh as a fresh graduate, ran mobile networks for MTN and Airtel across Africa, and at Nokia helped deliver 4G on balloons over Kenya with Google Loon. Later in India, with Google X (Google's moonshot factory), I took Taara's laser-internet from zero to a multi-million dollar business across India and Asia Pacific. Today, as a Technical Program Manager for AI & Infrastructure at Google, I help plan the fiber network, subsea capacity and long-haul network connecting gigawatt datacenters that AI depends on in APAC.
