He is the founder and head coach of Salem Cricket Academy, where he has been actively involved in training and developing young cricketers with a strong focus on discipline, technical excellence, fitness, and match awareness.

An ICC Level I certified coach, Muthukumar Palanisamy has contributed significantly to grassroots and competitive cricket development across Tamil Nadu and India. Over the years, he has trained numerous aspiring cricketers and guided players participating in district, state, and domestic-level tournaments.

His coaching journey includes serving as a selector for the Salem District Cricket Association affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), where he played an important role in identifying and nurturing emerging cricket talent. He has also been associated with professional cricket environments through his contributions to teams representing Mizoram and Manipur in major Indian domestic tournaments such as the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
