Manavya

Among the various acitivies, or trivenis, offered here at the Mahindra United World College of India, Manavya is one of them. Manavya is an organization which works to support women and children who have been diagnosed as HIV positive. The stigma attached to HIV positive individual's is a complicated one; the Manavya organization aims to decontruct them and allow chlidren and women to be a part of society in an equal way.

A bunch of MUWCI student go down to the orphange once a week as part of the "peace and justice" triveni stream. As a triveni, we aim to get to know the kids at the orphange by engaging with them through various fun activites and simple conversations. This bond that is formed is very important to us, as we want to get to know the community that surrounds our hill as best we can.

For many of us, it is the best part of our week and thus, this is a blog to document it all.
