Michael von Roeder

Michael von Roeder works both as entrepreneur and corporate executive. Currently he serves as CEO of Sensorberg, a SaaS IoT company merging the physical with the digital world. Until mid 2016 he was responsible for Vattenfalls pan-european IT and communication network and IT operations. He founded and invested in a number of startups in the areas of Mobile, Energy and FinTech.
From 2009 to 2010 Michael was managing the international iconmobile group as COO and managing director, also being responsible for the field of global innovation and business development. Iconmobile is part of WPP and one of the leading players in the fields of mobile user experience and mobile marketing.
Since 2003 he led the global user experience function at Vodafone in London, Tokyo and Düsseldorf. Michael was part of the initial Vodafone live! launch team, responsible for the overall experience including the first camera handset in Europe. He ran the Japanese UE operations between 2004 and 2006.
Earlier he worked with Accenture in their communications and high-tech practice serving key players in the fixed and mobile communications industry both in strategy and technology roles. This included major delivery programmes in billing and customer care as well as shaping strategies in the early days of the mobile data business.
At the beginning of his career Michael worked as a software developer creating tools to design and run graphical user interfaces on various platforms. He holds degrees in Business Administration and Technology Management from the University of Stuttgart and is an IMD Lausanne alumnus.
