Headshot Photographer

Landscape photography is one of the most relaxing and fulfilling things any photographer can do - capturing the beauty and the essence of the landscape with perfect timing, lighting and composition. Here are one or two tips about how to make your landscape photographs truly sensational.
The magic is in the hour - it's true, the quality of the natural light can make a big impact on landscape photography which is why so many award winning photographs are taken in the "magic hours" - the hours immediately following dawn and just before dusk. If you can't manage to drag yourself out of bed before dawn for a weekend photography session don't worry, you can take beautiful photographs at any time of the day.
Getting the composition right - it's all about balance. If you are a relative newcomer to landscape photography and don't have much idea about the right composition remember the rule of the thirds. Mentally divide the frame into thirds both horizontally and vertically then place any of the points of particular interest where those imaginary lines intersect. Some very experienced and talented landscape photographers can successfully throw away this rule but it's a good place to start.
Get out and about - the best photo opportunities can arise in the most unremarkable places. There really is no substitute for getting out and about to find the best locations. If you are keen to head off the beaten track make sure that you take a map and compass with you. A hand held GPS device can also help you to find your way back to the car.
Of course the real key to taking beautiful landscape photographs is practice, practice and a little more practice. There really is no excuse with today's modern digital cameras - you don't even have to pay for the film to be developed to see the fruits of your labor.
