A quick look at my background and you may be thinking “This person is really into gaming.” It’s true, I do love games. Video games, board games, role playing games, you name it. Gaming brings people together and provides you with interactive experiences in which you learn about about yourself and those you’re playing with. It’s simple really, you’re presented with an obstacle, you have some rules in which you can overcome said obstacle, and wah-lah, you have a game.
The core of it really is, “What’s the obstacle? What are the rules I should be playing by, and how much is left to interpretation? Where is there some flexibility, or a different way of thinking, that let’s me solve an issue?” When you extract it back to its core principles, it’s really fun problem solving. That’s what I love. Well that, and the people aspect of it. I love working with other people to figure out how they see the challenge (maybe they’ll show me a different perspective.) I’ve found that that best solutions generally come from having diverse perspectives.
I’ve done a few things in my life. I’ve spent time as a US Marine, a surf instructor, a nightclub promoter, a scholar, a dancer, an advertiser, and as a developer. These are all roles. What I am - what I enjoy being, is a problem solver, a mentor, a coach, a husband, and a dad. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me, now, what game shall we play first?
