Magnificent Mayhem
I was born in Colorado and raised in a small town in Kansas. I now reside in Arkansas with my little family of 6. As far back as I can jog my memory I have had two passions-motherhood and music. How can you be passionate about motherhood before you become a mother? I don't know, but I was! Growing up I spent much time in the church nursery, cuddling babies and playing with toddlers. God just put the desire to nuture in me from a very young age. I have always been a little nosy, a little persistant and a lot bossy:) I've also always carried a purse packed full with necessities (not all moms do this, but I do consider it a mom thing:) Ten years ago God fulfilled the desires of my heart with the arrival of a baby boy. Since then my Husband of eleven years and I have added three more to our brood. Are we done having kids? Never say never;) With Mr.Speer as my other half, I'm up for whatever! My passion for music is something that was placed in me by God, but sparked and spurred by my worship leading Father. I grew up listening to Ron Konole, Kent Henry, Darell Evans...and many more amazing worship leaders. When I was 13 I first heard Darlene Z sing Shout To The Lord-and I knew I wanted to lead people into my Father's presense the way she did. I was, however, a little terrified of singing in front of people. Afer a couple years of singing in church and school choirs I lead worship for the first time. From that point on I led worship for 2-3 different youth groups and our schools FCA group. After that I continued to lead wherever I was asked, and the rest is history. I am now involed with the worship team at my church, sometimes leading out and sometimes singing background. I love it either way. Being a leader is not about who is singing what, it's about where your heart is. Ultimately the only thing that matters is that you are being used by God to bring people closer to Him. Besides motherhood and music I really enjoy crocheting, knitting, a little sewing, cooking, jewelry making...and much more. Basically any creative activity is something I am on board for:) I play the guitar and a little piano. I think I just like the process of turning nothing into something.
