Emily Okaty Wilson
Writer, Volunteer, and Public Speaker in Michigan
Emily Okaty Wilson writes about life seen through the eyes of the average wife and mother. Her writing style is conversational, honest, insightful and sometimes funny while she tries to be honest about her world of organized chaos. She has experienced the heartbreak of divorce, the joy of finding true love, the emptiness of depression, the elation of overcoming personal obstacles and the clarity of embracing her creativity. In between the chaos, she has found time to squeeze in home school, freelance oboe performance and volunteering.
Although Emily calls Michigan home, she spent most of her life growing up in Texas, graduating from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. in English. She lives with her husband, two daughters, a son and a spoiled designer mutt.
She is a freelance writer, blogger, public speaker, and aspiring novice runner. Some of her work has been published in The Livingston Parent Journal, Chicken Soup for the Mother of Preschooler’s Soul, and MomSense Magazine by Christianity Today. Other publication venues include Vox Poetica, Blissfully Domestic, The Detroit News MichMoms, and Novel Publicity.
Her personal blog is a place to document life, celebrate more victories than failures and hopefully inspire others to be the best wife, mother and woman that they can possibly be.
