My name is Emily and I’m a 29 year old, first time mum who lives in Surrey. I’m married to a wonderful, generous man with the biggest heart Ive ever known. We’ve been married just over 2 years and after learning the art of compromise as a wife, I am now learning the art of patience as a mummy. In July of this year, I became a mummy to a beautiful, bouncing baby girl who you’ll often hear me refer to as the little lady. I used to call her My Petit Canard – French for my little duck when she was in my tummy. Confusingly, im not actually French. I just love the language which my husbands family happen to speak. Ive always wanted to start a blog, but it wasn’t until I had the little lady and found myself with so much to talk about that I actually found myself creating a blog one late evening, as you do! My blog shares my inner most ramblings, thoughts and experiences as a new mummy, so it felt only right to call it My Petit Canard.

I’m having lots of fun with the little lady on maternity leave, but the time will soon come for me to return to work in the city and I would love to share our journey with you. So hold on tight, because Ive got a feeling it might be a bit bumpy!
