My Tool Box was developed at Stanford University to help people with chronic diseases and is now offered in several languages throughout the world. Trained volunteers who have chronic diseases facilitate the workshops for others. More than two decades of research shows that My Tool Box can make a real difference. People who complete the workshop may feel less fatigue and pain, and often have fewer emergency room visits or hospital stays. Many also find they have more energy and better coping strategies, and feel greater confidence when communicating with health care professionals.

My Tool Box (Stanford Program) is a free 6-week program for individuals living with chronic disease and their loved ones. The program is designed to teach people the skills they need to live well with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, asthma, arthritis, cancer, MS, muscular dystrophy, stroke, hypertension and chronic pain. These fun, practical and interactive workshops emphasize coping strategies and practical skills
