Jin Yim is an independent producer and researcher based in South Korea. She has worked on a wide range of art projects, including performance, theater, and multidisciplinary arts, in various spaces. Her main interests are in the arts in public spaces and international mobility for performing arts.
Since 2010, Jin has produced, programmed, and facilitated performing arts festivals and arts in public spaces. She started her career as a producer for the Hi Seoul Festival’s international program in 2010. After working at Hi Seoul Festival for 3 years, she got to work as a program manager at Ansan Street Arts Festival in 2013–15 and as a programmer at ACC International Fringe in 2017, Gwacheon Festival in 2019–20, and Pohang Festival in 2018–22. Her experiences broadened to the arts market when she got to work with Street Arts Market in Seoul for 3 years in 2016–18 as an executive producer, programming showcases and networking programs for street arts professionals. In the Performing Arts Market in Seoul (PAMS), she had been in charge of international relations for the street arts industry for two years since 2020 and had worked as a co-associate director of PAMS in 2022. @myunzee
Her main practices also include developing and mediating the creative process for arts productions. She works with Physical Theater Company Momggol and I-Moment as a creative producer and is also in charge of project-based productions with Visual Theater Company CCOT and Contemporary Dance Company White Cube Project as an affiliate producer. Currently, Jin is a member of the Asian Producers’ Platform and the organizing committee of Samilro Changgo Theater.
In 2019, she established the collective company ‘DARI’ with fellow creative producers. Dari means ‘Bridge’ in Korean, which stands for connectivity of or through the arts. Project DARI features the experiments of artists, producers, and festivals. Project DARI facilitates and mediates the process while producing and programming new ideas for the arts in public spaces. https://projectdari.art @project.dari
