From an early age I claimed the library as my second home. As I got older I found myself hanging out at the library while my peers were hanging out at the mall or going to the movie theater. In addition to my love of reading, librarianship to me is largely about being of service to the community, and I knew this is what I wanted to do both personally and professionally. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Community and Human Services before earning my Master's in Library and Information Science. My passion for helping others find the resources to help themselves has transpired in numerous ways, including volunteering for Books to Prisoners programs and volunteer teaching at Rikers jail.
