At first glance you may stumble on the pronunciation. You may even question who or what that is.
Well let me help. Mz Shyk (/shek/) is who I am, a fashion and music blogger of ChicShyk. I am also affiliated with Atlanta blogger Oh Nikka- the Undercover Socialite and Miami Music Group Thrillseekers.
ChicShyk, however, is my personal blog. This site provides an eclectic fusion of fashion, music, and social happenings that can be viewed as a resourceful yet informative blog highlighting the current trends in modern America. Being in South Florida it is hard not to uniquely incorporate the wide variety of diverse cultures surrounding the Floridian Peninsula. My sense of style in flare is best categorized as a Jersey, city girl foundation with a Caribbean/ South Floridian flare! Though I was born and raised in Central Jersey the past few years spent here alongside my travels along the east coast for the last few years, there is no denying the inspirational diversity that make up the communities within cities like Fort Lauderdale and Miami. It is just fascinating how reflective and prevalent the cultures of neighboring countries like South America, the West Indies and Europe are within the arts and culture of the American State that we call Florida.
I first got my “blogging feet wet” during my two year stay in Atlanta, GA serving as the assistant to blogger Oh Nikka! At that time I also made a career change and became a Visual Merchandising Assistant for Gap Inc. holding a position with the Old Navy in Atlanta. When an opportunity arised to relocate back home I did so and took on a role as a Lead for Merchandising/Logistics at Gap Kids, Baby, and Maternity in Miami, FL. Upon coming back to the south I also agreed to become a blogger for Thrill Seekers Music Group, bringing a more fashion, artistic flare to the Miami music scene.
