- I am a senior research professor at the University of Chester, UK. Previous academic posts were at Bangor University and the University of Manchester.
- In 2006 I was awarded the 12th annual Satava Award to acknowledge my accomplishments in the field of computer graphics and medical visualization.
- In 2009 I was elected as a Fellow of the Eurographics Association.
- In 2014 I was elected as a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales
- I am also a 2013 Churchill Travelling Fellow
My primary research interests are in the application of computer graphics, haptics, and virtual environments to medical applications. Recent projects have included creating simulators for training interventional radiology, and the use of augmented reality for anatomy education.
I am a keen supporter of the Wales rugby union team and the Ospreys regional team. A simulator to train rugby skills is also in development!
