Dynamic, vibrant, visionary, and an adaptable development professional with strong field level experience, holding Masters Degrees in Environmental Biology and Sociology and a PGD from School of Environment, Resources and Development, AIT, Bangkok and received various professional certificates in career. By training an Ecologist and Biologist with more than 14+ years of experience in planning and managing all phases of multidisciplinary projects, implemented number of projects directly and as a team in different parts of country and worked in Thailand, developed a plan “Sustainable marine based tourism for healthy coral reef” for Koh Chang Island. Problem solver who is motivated by fast paced world and creative environments, flexible on location as per need and scope of work. Possess strong work ethics, excellent interpersonal, teamwork and analytical skills and a grass root level worker.
Currently working as Natural Resource Management Coordinator with International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and is based at Country Office Pakistan. Had experience with EU-UNDP, Supreme Master Ching Hai Int, WWF and local NGOs, consulting firms and government departments. Most recently he has been involved with District Governments, National Park Authorities, Communities, Wildlife, Agriculture and Livestock, Fisheries, Forestry Departments and Urban Forestry, Horticulture departments, Academia, Private sector and civil society groups. He is actively involved in one of the IUCN’s expert Commission on Ecosystem Management as a member since 2007.
His current portfolio includes IWRM work in Hingol National Park, alternative energy, livelihoods, Biodiversity conservation, forestation plan for Karachi, M&E, monitored of 10K Ha of forestry project, capacity building of partners and stakeholders, NRM plans, integrated development visions, post cyclone ecological damage assessments, trained more than 60 interns, IEEs, environmental studies, climate change study of coastal areas, educations for sustainable development, vegetation and biodiversity surveys, feeding preferences of faunal biodiversity Murree National Park. Financial and Ecological gap analysis of protected areas, Draft CITES for Pakistan, ABS mechanism for communities, socioeconomic surveys, no hunting zones, salt tolerant fodder crops and sand dunes stabilization to combat desertification while improving natural resources and livelihood resources of coastal communities
