Nadia Dresscher-Lambertus
I'm a Sociologist with a background in (new) media and communication studies. I have a fascination for the collision of humans and technology and how this shapes the experience of everyday life. I'm a phd student at Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis (ASCA) (www.uva.com/asca) and Digital Methods Initiative (www.digitalmethods.net) at the University of Amsterdam
In particular areas of interests that tickle my imagination are among others: new media issues, critical thinking & (new) (media) literacies, the rise of social movements, new activism, bridging/mobilizing the offline and online and the role social media plays herein, mediated realities, sociology of social change and technological developments in general associated with post-industrial and technological based societies. In terms of research I'm exploring the sweetspot between quantitative (big data) and qualitative data (narratives). I love (messy) data, social network analysis and online cartographies.
I adore the sun & the sea, cats, the art of datavisualization, literature, sewing and everything vintage & sci-fi.
