Take my class

Hello, My name is Ngozi RA!

I graduate from El Camino College in 2003, with an AA in General Studies. I transferred to CSU Los Angeles, completing my BA, in Social Work in 2005, and Masters of Science degree in Social Work in 2009.

I’m a Wholistic Student Services Professional at El Camino Community College, in the department of Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) a student support program. I have served the department for 15 years as classified staff member. My title is Student Services Advisor. My role and responsibilities are Career and Transfer and Foster Youth Liaison.

I’ve been a happy and enthusiastic member of the Counseling team at Golden West College since 2013, as an adjunct counselor, teaching Career and Life Planning courses.

In 2003, I became an Ambassador for OnCourse, which delivers eight powerful success principles for student success. I’ve use these principles in my advising, counseling and course curriculum to encourage, empower and engage students to thrive in their personal, academic and professional lives; to become the Creators of their dreams and visions.

I’m a graduate from INN, International Integrated Nutrition, the largest nutrition school in the world and it’s all online. I graduated in 2015, as a certified health coach. I realized the need to also infuse health education in my courses and to also improve my own health and wellbeing. I want my students to be healthy, happy and live radiant lives of purpose.

In 2016, I participated in a 3 day Strength Quest coaching training to add coaching skills to my professional tool box that focus on developing students strengths and to eliminate deficit thinking. I use this skills in my advising, counseling and teaching roles.

My passion for technology began 20 years ago. I developed an interest in distance education 10 years ago, and found any reason to take professional development courses to enhance my skill set. The 21st Century career paradigm and the teaching pedagogy for teaching online has engaged my interest and fused my passions into one focus.

I’m passionate about empowering others, learning, teaching online, creating exciting and meaningful content, developing connections, understanding and appreciating the unique diversity of humanity, learning communities, students and peers.

My personal philosophy for success is self empowerment through Excellence, Courage, and Compassion. My personal motto is “Grow with
