I majored in children! I had 3 girls, adopted a boy and fostered countless other kids who needed a good and stable home It was all an adventure and I loved it. It was natural when I went to work to enter the field of working with handicapped chidren and adolscents since this population were my interest when I worked as a Psych Tech at Napa State Hospital and when I studied at San Jose State Teachers College I pursued this knowledge. Education was not necessary in those early days, so I had an open field to develop.I was blessed to work in a job that I loved and work with kids I loved. Eventually moved to Sacramento as the department lead and finally california tapped me to work in the state level monitoring. of Comp. Ed. My best friend Kay Haralson worked side by side with and, although I didn"t ever want to retire, I was happy to know that Kay was even more competent than I and the time had come for me to enjoy my very large family. I was 75+.
