Nancy E. Grossman

I write about the math problem that is inherent in trying to find time to parent, manage a household, participate in the community, take care of one's health, and, oh yeah--work. For stress relief I also throw my hat into the ring on issues of taxation (more, not less), sharing the wealth, economic justice, municipal finance, and whatever else from the morning news that is screaming to be commented upon. I am happy to report that just thinking about launching a campaign to get the Boy Scouts of America to rescind their hideous "gay ban" has resulted in that organization taking their first tentative steps in that direction--another victory for armchair organizing!

In my abundant spare time I go on winter camping trips with adolescents, put out fires, clip-but-don't file way too many news articles, try to blog about health and politics, and meditate on "tactful" vs. "blunt" communication. I am the mother of a teenager. Our family lives in beautiful western Massachusetts with the exquisite Ruby the Cat.
