Nancy Lazaro

Dar es Salaam Tanzania.

Living life to the fullest and making a positive difference that will make the world a better place to live in is my mission. I have dreams that I thrive every other day to make them a reality and mostly leave footsteps that can be a point of reference once I am gone.

I was born on 16 January, 1986 as Nancy Lazaro and I grew up knowing three important things which are the values and love of a family, believing in the beauty of my dreams and being a source of light, love, hope and happiness to others.

As a holder of a Master’s degree in International Business and a Bachelor in Commerce and Management (Major in Marketing) from the University of Dar es Salaam – Business School, I have undertaken several jobs as a project manager to enhance my knowledge and skills in project management. I have worked with Business Link Logistics (T) Ltd as a Project Manager for the clients, Sasatel (Launch, Capacity building and client service), Faidika Micro Finance Company (Market Research and Positioning) and Barclays Bank Tanzania (Retail Capacity Building, New Branch Opening Campaigns). Afterwards, I joined Creative Genes as a marketing consultant and finally I worked with a car rental and tourism company, Safecruise Rentals (T) Ltd as a General Manager.

I love art, thus I am a co-founder of La Poetista which is a group of young artists and lovers of the arts that are committed to grow the art of poetry in the Tanzanian community, as well as provide a platform to grow other art forms that complement and are complemented with poetry. La Poetista stand for freedom and humanity. Our current projects include Open Mic Nights where everyone is welcome to share their artistic talents and Woman Scream whereas La Poetista will unite with poets around the world to denounce violence against women.

I find satisfaction in supporting women in their endeavors as well as empowerment and mentoring. I am an organizer of Daughters of Destiny meetings that happens every month at different venues. The Daughters of Destiny (DOD) aims to make the stage of being a young woman, one of the most exciting phases by nurturing women to be like beautiful oak trees that cannot be shaken because the roots have gone down so deep.
