Nancy Mkhize
Student in University of Johannesburg
I am Nancy Nontando Mkhize and I live in Johannesburg. I am studying at University of Johannesburg for a Bachelor of Edecation degree in Senior and Further Education and Trainin Phase. I am majoring in English and ICT. Currently, volunteering in a programme called The Link Literacy Tutoring program, where we tutor learners who are having difficulties in reading and writing.
In my family, I am the first child to go to University and all my siblings are looking up to me. I want to become an inspiration to them and the learners I will teach. I want to share all the knowledge I have with the younger generation. I do not want to be just a teacher but a motivator, caring person who can stimulate and encourage learners' creativity and critical thinking, as well as their growth and development into understanding who they are, how and what skills they need to possess to fit into the outside world. As an ICT specialist I aim to equip learners with the 21st century skills and prepare them for the Forth Industrial Revolution world with all the advanced technologies it comes with.
During my spare time, I enjoy reading novels (fantasy), watching CDramas, KDramas and Hallmark Movies. I would like to travel to some of Asian and European countries someday.
