Nan Lu

Houston, Texas

Hello,

My name is Nan Lu. Welcome to my about.me page. I am glad that I have a great opportunity to share my work, passion, and hobbies with someone who happens to stop by. Enjoy your time here and please leave some marks here if you wish.

For you to know me better, here are some random things about me:

I am a biomedical scientist who is working hard on Alzheimer disease to find novel ways of diagnosis and treatment for this devastating neurodegenerative disorder.

I grew up in a small village until 6 years old. Surrounded by virgin forests and mountains, the village resides in northwest part of China. Due to its high altitude and mountain climate, we once had snow in the middle of summer.

I love traveling and meeting random people on the road. I dream of visiting all national parks in Unites States. So far I have visited 7 of 59. Yeah, 52 to go!

I absolutely love to eat, particularly with family and friends. But my talent is that I don’t gain any weight no matter how much I eat. Don’t be jealous.

When dinning in restaurants, I prefer to order dishes that I never tried before, especially those with odd names or ingredients. Did I have any unpleasant experience? You bet.

I love fishing in the gulf coast. It is the best way to relieve stress and feel being connected to Mother Nature. My best catch so far? A baby shark!

I am afraid of height. But I wish one day I could be brave enough to make a bungee jumping. But for now, I’d like to take a rain check.

My favorite movie is Forrest Gump. “Life is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get.” This is the beauty of life: full of adventures! For me, today’s piece is amazing and I believe that tomorrow’s piece will be even better.

I like to make friends who are ambitious and passionate about what they are doing. They make me energetic and passionate about what I am doing.
