Natasha Antonellis
Amherst, Ma
Hi, my name is Natasha Antonellis. Currently I am a junior majoring in Accounting, in the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I plan to graduate with the 150-credit qualification needed to obtain a CPA license in the pursuit of becoming a public accountant. As a student in Isenberg I strive for excellence in my academics and have been exposed to a variety of coursework, which has provided me with the knowledge and interest in pursuing a financial career.
Experience in various leadership positions has taught me to work and communicate effectively with a diverse client base. I consider myself a hardworking and enthusiastic person, who is willing to learn; which is why I have exceled in such a range of industries. From food service to governmental research I have developed and relied on my core strengths; these include my professional manner and client interface skills, my independence and persistence, and my organizational skills.
Outside of school and work I enjoy playing soccer, reading, cooking and traveling, and have always been passionate about helping others. Since grade school I have always been involved in my school, community and parish; participating in a variety of volunteering projects. My favorite being WorkCamp, which is a weeklong mission trip I attended 4 years in a row. Volunteers work hard repairing homes for people in need, while experiencing the amazing power of community.
Unlike the commonly held belief that volunteering is all about giving, I believe volunteering is more of an exchange. Volunteers are exposed to a diverse range of people and experiences, some benefit from learning a new skill or finding a new interest or hobby. Others are able to simply reference their experiences and accomplishments to boost career options. For me volunteering helps me connect with others and has resulted in many new friendships. I believe the most beneficial aspect of volunteering is the satisfaction and sense of accomplishment I feel afterwards.
