Naome Seifu

My life journey began June 20, 1993 at Grady Memorial Hospital, located in Atlanta. I was a first generation born in America. Both my parents were immigrants from Ethiopia, located in east Africa. I am only child and I live with my mom. I attended Jolly Elementary and than transitioned to Tucker Middle School. I was fortunate enough to attend Marist School, a private school in Atlanta. There I was given one of the best educations and loved every moment I experienced there. I did many different things while being a student at Marist. I went on a mission trip for spring break to Chinandega, Nicaragua. I also interned for NPR (National Public Radio) working for the Director of Communications during a summer. I have also done many outreach programs and helped with retreats and peer leader programs. After graduating with the class of 2011, I am now a student at the University of Georgia. I will be majoring in the field of broadcast journalism and minoring in international affairs. I hope to one day become an international news anchor for CNN.
