Writing, telling stories, creating, crafting, and thinking outside of the box are what I love to do.
I've always had a knack for telling stories in a compelling way. It's what led me first to high school journalism, where I entertained students while simultaneously creating trouble with the school's higher-ups with my opinion columns on school-enforced bike rules and R-rated movie reviews (heaven forbid!).
Then I decided to tackle some bigger fish: screenwriting and directing. My stories range from a typewriter shop owner making deals with the Devil to a couple in a long distance relationship who meet halfway in the middle of nowhere once a month. You can read a sample of the former and watch the latter if you shoot me a message.
I currently work as a freelance office and set production assistant on commercial shoots. While studying film production, with an emphasis in directing, at Chapman University I wrote and directed short films and even had the opportunity to shoot on location in Joshua Tree, which you can read about in my blogs.
The fast-paced environment of production life is exciting because it keeps me on my toes. I never know what to expect next, so I have to be prepared for anything. I love the challenge of solving problems through collaboration, and that's why film is one of my passions.
I also try to be a well-rounded human being when I have some free time and like to indulge in meticulous tasks, so I draw comics (check 'em out via Tumblr or Instagram), weave, and create book art amongst other things. Practicing yoga and being outdoorsy are activities I try to keep up with, too.
I'm always interested in making new connections and working on projects, whether it be writing, film, development--you name it!
