Narine Daneghyan

Narine Daneghyan is an Armenian journalist, based in Yerevan. She is covering political and sports issues. At first sight, sports and politics seem so different and incompatible, but Narine is doing her best to develop her skills in both areas. «Sports and political issues are the things in which I am mostly interested. And to choose one of these two is nearly impossible for me. So I am taking both”, says Narine.
She is an interviewer for one of Armenia’s most famous news agencies- MediaMax and sports reporter for the only sports magazine of Armenia “Sport De Facto”.
From 2010 up to now Narine is the Armenian correspondent of US based Youth Journalism International nonprofit organization. http://youthjournalism.org
She was named the winner of Youth Journalism International’s 2011 «Sports Opinion» and 2012 «Sports story of the Year» awards.
Her journalism career began at the age of 8, when she began to attend journalism class in «Manana» youth center. In 2003 a film making class was opened, and Narine decided to gain knowledge about the film industry. In the end of the year her 1 minute film called «Chalkpaiting» was shot. The film has received various awards in different international film festivals. Narine’s first professional experience as a journalist began as the sports editor of hayfootball.com website. In 2010 she worked as a sports writer in weekly magazine «TV channel». The next year, 2011, was a fruitful year for her, as she expanded her career background into radio journalism, working as a reporter at a radio station «Impuls».
From 2011 through the present, she is the sports interviewer, columnist and reporter for the only Armenian sports magazine «Sport De Facto» (www.df.am). 2012 was successful for Narine, as she began work as an interviewer for “Mediamax” news agency (www.mediamax.am )
