Nasreen Abdulla
Dubai
I once used to have an extremely glamorous job as a radio reporter in Dubai. My achievements included
1. Travelling with Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum on the first metro
2. Meeting with and interviewing Tony Blair, Ban Ki Moon, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Lewis Hamilton, Novak Djokovich, Roger Federer, Shah Rukh Khan, Chetan Bhagat, Anupam Kher, etc.
I held on to this glamorous job even after I had my first daughter in 2010. In 2012, when I had my boy I decided I needed to take a break from the glamor and "experience" being a full time mother. That was over a year ago. Now my achievements include
1. Coloring 5 pictures, completing 7 connect the dots, reading 4 books and baking 2 cakes all in one day.
2. Changing a soiled nappy while flipping a pancake and feeding my daughter (mothers have 10 hands, dont you know that?)
3. Blogging about my struggles to meet the demands of my preschooler and toddler
As you can read for yourself, my list of achievements is now longer :)
