Natalia Badziak is a fourth-year viola performance student at Oberlin Conservatory where she studies with Peter Slowik. She is also pursuing a Bachelors degree in Comparative Literature through Oberlin College’s double degree program. Before coming to Oberlin, Natalia studied with Roland Vamos, Professor of Viola at Northwestern University. In 2009 and 2008 Natalia received individual and collaborative awards, respectively, in the Society of American Musicians Competition and the Chicago National Chamber Music Competition. She has also participated in concerts with the Park Ridge Civic and Ars Viva Symphony Orchestras.

Natalia is interested in combining music with visual, written and physical art forms and in finding ways to connect with wider audiences. She has interned with Chicago's Fifth House Ensemble. Natalia is enthusiastic about teaching as well as performing classical music in both traditional and non-traditional settings. She has experience performing in Lutheran and Catholic religious services.

Outside of classical music, Natalia spends her time reading and writing short fiction.
