Natalie Crouch MA (Hons)
Originally from Lancashire in England, I studied at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland for four years, before moving to London in 2015 to start a job as a teacher.
In my four year degree, I studied English grammar and syntax intensively, from the viewpoint of both Chomskian structuralist approaches, and cognitive theories.
Having also studied Global Englishes, I gained an understanding of the subtle nuances of differences between Japanese-English speakers and British-English speakers.
Similar work in cross-linguistic phonetics means that I have thorough knowledge of the differentiation of British vowel sounds, and can easily describe just how to pronounce those difficult diphthongs and other vowels.
With expert, degree-level understanding of English acquisition in adults, pronunciation and word order, I am able to coach students in all three aspects of language learning: reading, speaking and comprehension.
