Natalie Charles

I have graduated with a Master’s Degree in Public Health from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, located in Brooklyn, NY. I am passionate about improving the lives of others. I enjoy reaching out to those who are suffering from health disparities and educating them about different resources that will improve their overall health. I hope to educate and promote wellness in my community and further enhance my Public Health Career.

I also plan on going back to Haiti and provide health education to the population. I want to change the health of my country. My parents are of Haitian descent which means that I already have a connection with the people. I will speak to them in their own language to ensure comfortability and help them take on the steps to better health.

I want to become an influential leader in Public Health that will stand firm to help eliminate or minimize the disparities that people face in my community and all over the world. What most people fail to realize, is that Public Health is the main reason for everything that surrounds us. It can be from the pollution in the air to dust and pollen that are in our homes. It is my number one priority to come up with different projects, reach out to the communities and initiate the steps needed to create a better Public Health.

I understand that it will take a long time to improve the health of everyone, but I still have hope that I can make a difference; by starting in my community.
