Student, leader, and optimist in Troy, Michigan

Read my blog

Hey there! Welcome to my page! I'm Natalie, but you can just call me Nat like the rest of my friends do. Here are my answers to basic introductory questions: orange, "The Book Thief", Vance Joy, & either Lincoln or Kennedy.

I'm currently a high school senior in the lovely town of Troy, Michigan, a city really only known for its shopping mall. I am equal parts my father's ability to recall random fun facts; my mother's passionate and altruistic soul; my older brother's courage in the face of adversity; my older sister's optimism and quick wit; my best friend's overused phrases and sense of humor; my dog's gregariousness.

I am blessed enough to have been able to pursue so many of my passions throughout high school. I've followed my passion for music by being the bass clarinet section and squad leader for Troy High's marching and symphonic band. I've followed my passion for leadership and planning by being the class of 2019 Secretary and an avid participant in Student Government. I've followed my passion for dance and delving into different cultures by joining IASA (Indian American Student Association) to perform Bhangra (a traditional Indian dance), as well as join a competitive Indian dance team called Riyaaz.

When I'm not practicing my instrument, staying after school for a Student Government run Homecoming decorating, or letting loose at dance practice, you can catch me burning calories at the gym via kickboxing or eating calories in the form of brownies that I just made in my kitchen. And if I'm not at the gym or in my kitchen, you'll spot me at the library studying with my friends while listening to political podcasts, or at the movie theater eating excessively buttered popcorn.

Now that you know what makes me tick, what makes my soul happy, maybe soon we can grab a coffee and you can introduce yourself to me. Until our Starbucks meeting however, I'll just leave you to ponder my favorite quote: "Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine." - Anthony J. D'Angelo
