Nataliette’s work explores the splendour of resigned anguish manifested in unblinking dolls. She finds beauty in the unnatural and grotesque, mystical idealogies, the irony of duality and paradox; with influences from the vanitas, symbolism of ancient mythologies, the macabre and the ironic.

She creates religiously by the words of her most revered idol, Oscar Wilde: “To reveal art and conceal the artist is art’s aim / The highest, as the lowest, form of criticism is a mode of autobiography / It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors.”

She also admires the work of Salvador Dali, Aubrey Beardsley, and Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio.
