My academics are an aspect of my life that I have always taken seriously and with great pride. I am an eager and hands-on learner who finds interest in critical thinking and problem solving. My academic experience includes attending Collingwood School during my early schooling years until transferring to West Vancouver Secondary School to receive my high school diploma. I am currently an undergraduate student studying Creative Industries at Ryerson University to earn my bachelor of arts.
Growing up, my ambition and passion for helping others, giving back to the community, and sharing my ideas have always driven my actions for the better. My ambition has allowed me to enjoy new experiences and has opened up many opportunities to fulfill my purpose, especially in travelling. My passion has taken me from Belize to help in building an elementary school and cleaning up the beaches, to Peru, where I had the chance to learn all about the culture and share the stories and customs with others.
I strive to challenge myself with memorable and valuable projects. This has led me to reaching some of my desired goals; for example, receiving my black belt in Taekwondo and launching a successful charity project with my friend during my earlier schooling years where we collected hotel amenities that students had brought back from vacation and delivered them to safe injection sites and shelters around Vancouver. With hard work and dedication, we were able to receive donations from both Lush and The Sutton Place Hotel. Connections and rewarding moments such as these have kept me motivated to do more and have shaped me into the person I am today.
As I am still discovering who I want to be in the future, I cannot truly say what industry I plan to venture into when I graduate, however, I can easily say that there is no better suited program for me to grow in than Creative Industries. Creative Industries has allowed me to endeavor into various topics from: digital media design and business management, to social media and the music industry. I know that I am passionate about pursuing a career within the media or management and am looking forward to uncovering my niche during my time at Ryerson.
