You could say I'm a book person first, and a marketer second, but I don't think one should have to choose. I've been in publishing for a number of years and have enjoyed the challenges of a changing industry.
My marketing philosophy is simple: Find a great product, and tell its story in a way that makes people want to be a part of it.
Some of the things I enjoy are--
- Making viral academic videos (yes, 10,000 views and a mention in the Chronicle of Higher Ed counts as "viral" in the world of education!).
- Creating irreverant Sociology-based Facebook quizzes.
- Crafting witty (you be the judge) cultural obervations on my travels on Twitter.
