I'm a full-time artist and illustrator working from my studio in Suffolk on the east coast of England. I'm lucky to live in such a beautiful place, and whether I'm walking through the heathlands, fields, forests, or along the beach, my surroundings definitely inspire my work. I have a life-long love of nature, especially birds and trees, and a fascination with astronomy and the moon - all subjects that regularly find their way into my paintings.
I'm in the process of setting up a new branch of my business under the name Luna + Milo. This shop will showcase a collection of unique, handmade and hand-illustrated wearable art and jewellery.
I've exhibited with many galleries throughout the UK and overseas, and my work has been selected several times for major shows including The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours (where I won a Winsor & Newton award for young artists), The Society of Women Artists, and the Singer and Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, all held at the Mall Galleries, London SW1. Four new paintings were exhibited at the Chelsea Art Fair in 2011. My work now sells to collectors worldwide with paintings in more than 20 countries. Selected originals and prints are also available through my online shop: www.etsy.com/shop/natashanewtonart
I regularly accept painting commissions and illustration work; my art has been used by the publishing company Random House for a series of five books by the author Jorge Bucay, as well as on the front cover of Resurgence & Ecologist magazine (Jan/Feb 2014). Other commissions have included CD cover art, business logos, and magazine articles. Collections of my painted stones were featured in the March 2012 issue of Homes & Gardens, the August 2014 issue of Ideal Home magazine in the UK, and the Summer 2014 issue of Flow magazine in The Netherlands. My work will also be featured in the book Rock Art by Denise Scicluna, due for release in 2015.
