Natasha Smith brings over 15 years of experience in strategic marketing, branding, creative direction, education, and community service to the scene. She has held marketing positions for Fortune recognized companies while serving her community in her “down time”. Most recently, Natasha founded Politics Unusual, an “edutainment” company focused on using the arts to create positive social change.
Natasha's dedication to the community has created a journey that lead her through involvement in organizations such as the National Council of Negro Women, Operation Hope, Women in Technology, Words Beats & Life and The Urban League.
As the elected Director of Professional and Personal Development and later for the Northern Virginia Urban League Young Professionals, Natasha combined her business savvy and education background to create programs, and events which enhanced the personal and professional lives of leading young professionals in the Northern Virginia area. During her term with the Northern Virginia Urban League, Natasha developed a high-quality, well attended, and widely respected professional and personal development program. This program consisted of monthly forums, interactive workshops, and popular experts as panelists and facilitators. Past workshops and topics have included “Define, Polish, and Uphold Your Professional Image”, “Financial Strategies for the Young Professional”, “Simple Steps for Starting Your Business”, “Creating Change in the Community” and “The State of Northern Virginia”.
Natasha is now using her creative direction, love of the arts, and passion for social issues to produce live artistic storytelling events and digital "edutainment" pieces to create social change.
