I am a married mother of two young teen boys. They live with their father in another state.
On my 40th birthday, I suffered a stroke. This was just one of the events that changed my life. 2 years later, I suffered a life-threatening attack of pneumo-encephalitis while on a walk with my son. This is a fancy word for "air-head". Air had replaced my cerebral-spinal fluid in my brain. I was told less stress and more oxygen. And all of this occurred 10 years after a brain-tumor that left me hearing-impaired. Either way, my life has been enriched through all of this.
My sons understand what blessings are. They are strong and caring. They know more about life and death than they should. And they view the world in a beautiful way.
I don't speak as well as I used to, and I don't work anymore. My time is spent healing myself so that I am here a lot longer with my children and my family. I write, am learning the guitar, and I do activities to strengthen my hand/eye coordination, as well as my brain.
Life changes on a dime...but that isn't always bad. This blog contains some of my thoughts as I move forward.
