Something that I have always thought is that "people are not born, they become". Perseverance, discipline, and willingness are three words that have built through years the great innovations and contributions of human history. Without these ones the world would not be as we know it today.

People clearly appreciate an intelligent person and it is fine and very rational actually. But for me intelligence is only 1% of the entire job, because if you really want something you need to make an effort an work too much on it. So, perseverance, willingness and discipline represent the other 99%. In a research project if a want to prove an economic hypothesis, show a new economic theory or innovation in this field, I have to try over and over until I give convincing arguments or show I am presenting something that is worth it. I strengthen my analytic, quantitative, and observant skills by practicing and failing sometimes. Because real research is like roller coaster, you have ups and downs that make you learn and strength your skills and weaknesses and thus you will be able to use them better day after day.

Also, another important aspect in economic research is teamwork. In order to learn, create, show, demonstrate something, you need to listen, internalize, analyze, and understand your workmates. These steps are what I try to do when I have the opportunity in a team. Every person has something to contribute to your repertoire knowledge. So, open your mind! And your journey will be more enriching and finding answers will be easier.

Finally, I would like to add that always you have to push yourself and get out of your comfort zone. It is not easy, but you always have to try it to obtain new results. I am not telling that I don't feel afraid of new, the important thing is to surpass those fears and allow that wonderful things happen in my life. So, I am ready to do it!.
